Week 16: Parties and Father's Day

Happy Birthday Great Grandma Penny!
We celebrated Grandma's birthday on Monday by going out to eat at Fifty Coins. This was only our second time taking her out because we are scared she is going to make a scene (Sophia not Grandma), but she did really well.

Sophia had a ball playing with her Great Grandma this week. There was a heat wave, but we stayed cool inside. The power went out one night during a thunderstorm, but Grandma continued to set her hair in the dark (what a trooper!)

Sophia started touching her toes this week and now plays with them constantly - maybe she will be a gymnist!

Nick stayed home from work this past week since Grandma was in town. We all enjoyed playing together.

It is a little early for Sophia to sit in her seat and play, but she can do it for short periods.

Sophia at her first photo shoot at Sears for Father's day pics!

Melanie (and Ryan) joined our Newcomer's paygroup this week.

Melissa hosted our Friday playgroup and Alison joined us this week with Alexander (Pike). Sophia is still doing the fencing pose here.

Here is Sophia playing with another Sophia.

We went to Emily's grad school graduation party in Brooklyn on Saturday. It was so fun to see her family and friends. Congratulations Em! This is a picture with Kerrie, Emily and Nicholle. Sophia did well on the car ride down, even though we were stuck in the worst traffic ever and it took us 2 1/2 hrs to get there and just as long to get home because of flooding on the Jackie Robinson.

Happy First Father's Day! Sophia surprised her Daddy in the morning with a card and presents (Yankee stadium baseball, a photo mug and pictures). Nick's Dad, stepmom and brother came over and I cooked (well sort of-- I bought precooked ribs, sides and a party roll, but made the corn!)
