Week 14: Less drool and more play

Happy Memorial Day! My mom, Nick's Dad, stepmother Dorothy, stepsisters Jody & Jessica and brother Jonathan came over today for a BBQ. Sophia had her first fall shortly after this picture was taken as she leaped from the table - no worries, she was ok.

Ali (here with Layla) taught a baby&me yoga class on Tuesday. Sophia wanted to eat most of the time, but we got a bit of a workout in.

Here is Jody at yoga with the twins (Sydney and Olivia) - she managed to get a good workout in, as she finds creative ways to hold the babies.

Friday's playgroup was a BBQ at Ali's house in Ridgefield. We spent a beautiful day outside taking care of the babies.

On Saturday, Granny Cathy stayed overnight to keep us company while Nick was away for the weekend on a church retreat. We noticed Sophia is drooling less and wanting to play more with her toys (especially taggie book from Kerrie, her lovey and taggie blankie from Dorothy). On Sunday, we went over to Pete and Lisa's next door for a quick drink and a cookie. They both ran a triatholon today - wow, that is impressive! Here are some poor quality but cute pictures from my camera phone this weekend:

We misplaced our camera this week, but on Sunday Nick found the camera in the garage - yeah I can take more pictures!

Week 13: Laughing?

Pictures from mommy and baby yoga class on Monday.

On Tuesday we went to Mommy Baby talk group in Bethel and Sophia relaxed on her new jellycat bunny from Udette, while the mommies all discussed the latest issues of the week. The only thing I brought up was how she fights going to sleep at night. Luckily, once she is down (betw 9 and 11pm), she sleeps until 3 or 5am for a feeding and then back to bed until 9am. I am pretty sure Sophia laughed while on the changing table tonight, but I will have to see if she does it again.

Big smiles after waking up from a long nap driving back from Stamford on Wed where I cleaned out my office (having resigned last week) and said goodbye to my co-workers.

First play date through Ridgefield Newcomer's club at Jenn's house this Thurs. Dean (4 months) is waving to the camera while Sophia does her usual "power" pose. She is starting to really like holding on to blankies like this taggie from Dorothy and Pop-pop.

Sophia at her play group on Friday at Emma's house in Danbury. The mommy's got treated to some English biscuits and candy while the babies played.

Tummy time is so much more fun laying on mommy!

On Saturday, Chuck came over for dinner and proudly bounced the baby to sleep. Unfortunately, after he left she was up every 2 hours that night- come back Chuck! I am hoping this is a growth spurt and she will go back to waking once a night.

Bill and Barbara from church also came to visit- thanks for the gifts! Everyone left with drool on their shirts.

Happy 3 month birthday Sophia! She is 24 inches as measured so accurately here with her toy worm (borrowed from Ryan) and yard stick. She is probably about 12 lbs 7 oz today, getting heavier every time I pick her up.

Lets go yankees! Sophia is happy because the yankees were winning while we were at a kicking off the summer BBQ at Michele and Eric's house.

She had a ball playing with Ayden outside and on her activity mat back at home!

Week 12: Playgroups and Shawn's baby shower

We are still trying to give Sophia a bottle every night, but she still does not know what to do with it. She chews (gums) on it and looks perplexed!

Sophia is all swaddled but not quite ready for bed - she needs a good night kiss from Daddy!

Rolling over from tummy to back seems to startle her quite a bit.

Sophia loves her lovey and getting tickled by mommy!

On Thursday, we went to a play date at Ann's house in Ridgefield. Mary, Janelle, Amy and Deb are posing with their babies. Melissa and Will are on the right.

Friday's playgroup was at my house this week. We found a new pose for the girls (no Will this week) and then flipped them over for tummy time.

More pictures from the playdate with Randie and Leah (above left) and Ali and Layla (right). Casey with Riley sleeping on the couch.

Shawn's baby shower was on Sunday- here is a picture at the restaurant with Shawn and Kerrie. The food was fantastic and I had a huge blue cupcake that was so worth the calories.. Sophia behaved fairly well on the drive to Brooklyn, with one hunger fit when we first got there. We had a blast and are so excited for the new baby boy on the way!

Week 11: Mom's Day & Rolling over tummy to back

Sophia and I went to our first Mommy and Baby yoga class on Monday this week. Friends of ours from the Bethel Mommy Baby talk group were there. I think Sophia is flirting with Will in this picture.

On Friday we had a playdate at Sheri's house in Newtown. In this picture is Janelle, Jodi, Randie, Amy, Emma and Melissa and of course we had to pose all the babies with Will in the middle (the only boy).

Sophia is being a bully and grabbing one of the twins' hair.

Big smiles as I learn to hold the camera to the side so she can still see my face to take a picture.

This week Sophia made great progress with Tummy time and starting holding her head up high. She has been rolling on to her back when propped up on her arms (without the boppy pillow).

On Saturday, Nick's second cousin Amanda had her First Communion party at Aunt MaryAnn and Regina's.

The older kids played outside while Sophia slept like a baby (with no neck)-- here Nick is imitating her.

Sunday was my first Mother's Day and Sophia got me a very cute card. Nick got me a gift certificate to get a mani-pedi, a beautiful hanging flower basket, made breakfast and dinner (delicious filet mignon). My mom and sister came over for dinner. As you can see, Sophia was on her best behavior and was all smiles.
